Syntetic Filtration Media made of polymer, can be used instead of quartz sand for commercial or domestic sand filters. Its being lightweight is a great advantage during the application. Backwash can be done as usual. But as pressure increase is low inside the polluted filter, backwash should be done with timing (The longest backwash period once in a week). It gives opportunity to get the required flow rate rate with a smaller pump, as pressure loss is low. 1 bag of PFM is 500 gr and it’s equal to 25 kg sand. Can also be used inside cartridge filters. It filters 1 micron particules and yet not flocculant is required with PFM.
