Clear Flock Gel was originally manufactured for use with Zeoclere high grade filter media used in swimming pool pressure filters. This is because the standard flocculents being marketed, interfere with the ion exchange capability of this type of filter media. It was also found that because of Zeoclere’s natural structure, the collection of fines when using Clear Flock Gel was far quicker and more efficient. It was reported later by the pool trade that when used in conjunction with glass medium and silica sand medium Clear Flock Gel noticeably reduced maintenance time when compared with aluminium sulphate or liquid flocculents. There are two manufactured. To use just place the required size cube or brickette in the pump strainer. The Clear Flock Gel slowly dissolves as the water passes over it on its journey to the filter. The Clear Flock Gel places a porous, clear membrane screen over the filter media, and penetrates the bed to an average depth of some 15cm (6”). the glutinous structure will remove the finest particles of dust and algae spores. Clear
Flock Gel should not be used with cartridge filters.

Clear Flock Gel Turbidity results July 2019
The turbidity testing took place over a 5 day period and the results were impressive as you will see from the graph. Whilst test pool No 4 started out looking visually good with a turbidity reading of 0.4NTU (being 0.1 NTU below the PWTAG Standard), even so Clear Flock Gel improved the water clarity by taking the level down to: 0.27NTU which is far better than the 0.5NTU standard set by the PWTAG. Perhaps even more impressive was the results for pool No 5, as this pool was initially in a very poor condition with a turbidity reading of: 1.28 NTU. After just four days the turbidity level reduced to 0.28NTU and although there was a slight rise at the end of 5 days it was still within the 0.5NTU Standard set by the PWTAG. In fact if you take the standard of 0.5 NTU and rate it at 100% then the best results from the two pools was close to 50% better than the PWTAG standard.
